Session 11: Mastering The Mental Model of Discipleship

Watch the video above; complete all of the homework; and turn it in electronically.

  1. Memorize (internalize) the Faithwalking mental model.
  2. Go to two people in your life who have a stake in your spiritual growth and development.
    • Tell them that you are training to be a Faithwalking coach, if applicable, and are attempting to allow this mental model to guide your life.
    • Without notes, share the model with them – the three circles, the content in the circles, the arrows, and what all that means to you.
    • Share a personal story of how learning to use this model to guide your thinking about discipleship has impacted your life.
  3. After sharing with two people, write a one-page journal entry using these bullet points as a guide:
    • Whom did you share with?
    • How did your listeners respond?
    • What was the impact on you of completing this assignment?
    • What evidence is present in your life that this mental model is guiding you?
    • Where is there work yet to be done to fully integrate the mental model into your way of being in life?
  4. Submit all written answers electronically to your trainer.
